I get a kick out of air conditioning, heating and topics related to indoor air quality. The reason: they are practical and everyone can use information about them to save energy and lower their utility bills. Not to mention staying more comfortable indoors. Anyone who has been our hometown of Austin, TX in the summer or during a blue norther would almost certainly agree.

When I was in charge of a commercial building, my duties included keeping guests comfortable, paying the utility bills, and contracting for the maintenance and repair of an ancient HVAC system. Eventually, I got a stack of proposals and price quotes to get the whole system replaced, ducts and all.
